So some may know, but I work as a web designer/developer for a Newspaper company. This week we've deployed a new change to our commenting structure. We've moved away from a vendor called Topix to Facebook commenting.

In doing so we've taken away anonymous posting. You must have a facebook account in order to post on articles. You can still make a fake account and all if you really want to.
The comments and emails we've gotten regarding the change have been largely negative of course, but prior to this change our discussions were just full of trolls. It's really a mixed blessing.
Since we're using facebooks API we're very limited in the information we have using said widgets. We don't get stats, reporting, or a real administration panel. In order to use the admin panel you have to generate the code, post it, and add people who are your friends on facebook to be admins.
