Shick Hydro 5 - 5 bladed razor review

It's terrible, I have not been in this much pain shaving in years. I feel as though I might as well have used a cheese grater, there's almost as many blades as one....

I cut myself in about 5 or 6 different places, which is probably more times than I have cut myself in the past 3-4 years since I switched over to Quatro Pro. At least I got the experience of a 5 bladed razor, and won't be curious again to switch away from the Quatro Pro; which I cannot complement enough.

I wonder when they will get their 6 bladed razors out.... It's going to happen eventually!

And I had the same experience with the Quatro Pro when I tried it back when it came out. It chewed up my face pretty badly, and I found the razors went dull quite quickly.

I'm still using the Mach 3 Turbo. I actually tried the Mach 5 Fusion (the one the kinda vibrates a bit) and thought it was AWESOME, except for the fact that the blades are worth more than gold bullion. So I stuck with the Mach 3 Turbo blades :p

I use one of those old tyme two blade razors. Works good, but results vary based on the shaving cream (I got this dope organic shit from Lush that smells great and causes AMAZING shaves, however it leaves terrible gunk on the razor).

Eh, fuck those overpriced pieces of shit. I bought a safety razor last April and $10 buys me basically a years worth a razors. One extremely sharp blade does more effective work than three to five shitty dull bladed Gillette razors. I just use that ultra cheap shaving soap with a brush and that's enough of a lubricant to give me the closest shave of any razor I've ever used, including the Mach 3, Quattro, and Fusion.

I prefer this one (or the original SNL Triple Blade one):

Gillette is still trying their asses off to get people to stop using the Mach 3. They've even turned it into a disposable blade but people ain't budgin'. Look at the new ads where they even mention the blade and try to tell them why the new version of the Fusion is "better". The Mach 3 does a perfectly fine job there's absolutely zero reason to switch to a more expensive blade. That's the only reason they still sell the Mach 3 blades instead of it being solely a disposable, guys just ain't switchin'.

The Fusion is a huge failure but they're stubborn and just keep pouring more marketing money trying to get the guys to switch. Regardless of how hard they try, it's just not workin'.

Again, SNL made a Triple-Trac razor spoof. A spoof. And now the product exists, and is this hugely selling razor. You know what the sad part is? The last part of the joke:

Announcer: The Triple-Trac. Because you'll believe anything.

One of my favorite parts about the single blade is when I cut myself I only cut myself once. The first time I made a cut with a Fusion and slit my face in five obvious lines was the last damn time I used it. The Mach 3 is my favorite otherwise. I haven't tried an electric razor only because my father had bad experiences with them but our facial skin and hair is so different that I'm just being a jerk for not at least attempting.

I've always used an electric shaver. It's just easier. First several times you use it, it's a really close shave, but it dulls over time, so you have to replace the blades or head every six months or so if you really want that close shave. (Or just get a new shaver, since they are usually only $20 or so.) I'm generally lazy and don't bother replacing it for a while. I don't mind a tiny amount of scruff on my face, since the hair grows so damn fast, anyway. (It's usually something that isn't visibly noticeable, anyway.)

I haven't tried the fancy ones like the one with the pre-shave dispenser, so they might be better.

Oddly enough, the razor works excellently without using the shaving gel that came with it. I used just water, and absolutely no cuts or burn. Works great.
