I think this article is even more absurd than saying piracy costs a gazillion dollars. I know what the author is trying to say, but stuff have gone extinct before (with or without human intervention) and we're not currently operating at negative infinite dollars in the economy. If those Manta Rays are really that valuable, the tourism industry would figure out a way to save them.
