<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>Because audit season is gearing up and i frequently have to metro into D.C. to a client's office i bought a Sony MiniDisk player. I knew Sony doesnt support mp3 but i also knew it came with a little program that will rewrite your mp3s to their ATRAC file type and transfer that ATRAC to the MD so it is essentially still an mp3 player. So far i like the MD technology a lot. My '96 Rav 4 only has a tape deck and the MD player came with a car adapter so that feature gets a lot of use with me as well. It cost me $130.

One alternatives was a simple usb, drag and drop, flash drive type mp3 player that can range from $80 for the 64mb versions to $200 for the 256mb versions.

The other option was shelling out $300+ for an iPod or a Dell/Gateway/Creative type clone were i could store ALL my music on their huge drives.

I made my choice, but what would you have done and why? Seen anything really cool out there that i missed?</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "Fine Hand"; text-align: left; '>My car has a cassette player only as well. I use the discman type with cassette adapter. No one will break into my car to steal a cassette tape player or a cheap discman. =8^)</div>

<div style='font: 10pt georgia; text-align: left; '>I thought the 2 portable players we have are mp3 layers as well? I could be wrong, since I never use them. And yes, you can get portable cd players that also play mp3s.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>are you sure you mean a CD that has raw mp3's on it and not a burned CD done by Roxio or Nero? The burning software converts it to .wav, i think, then burns which is why you can usually only get like 15 songs on a CD. If the files are still .mp3 then you can fit a lot more on a CD, but most CD players dont read that format and it doesnt work, from what i understand.</div>

<div style='font: bold 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I had an MP3 CD player for my old car. It was sweet. I'd copy 200 songs to one CD and hit random. :)</div>
