Mailing list fun

At where I work there's some mega company mailing list about database issues or something that apparently everyone is on without knowing it since seldomly used. Some email came out about how some of our database is messed up, or something, and a bunch of guys hit reply all for your generic "Take me off" "Me too!" "Me three!" It's annoying to see 50 posts about that but that's the expected behavior you'd get from the "Reply All" button.

And then after that there was another 50 post telling people to stop using the Reply All command to everyone, using the Reply All feature to make sure everyone realized they should stop using Reply All.

I was thinking of hitting Reply All to that and say "Got it!" but decided that'd probably be a bad idea.

Haha. Deleting e-mails from people hitting "Reply All' to get removed from lists defined my first two years of school webmail use at VA Tech.

People do this a lot in Facebook, too. For a wedding where the bride didn't know a lot of our addresses, she used a Facebook mail over a large group to try and get them. A fair amount of them used reply all, or whatever the Face book equivalent is. Crazies.

I love it when people send e-mail to the our All IT mail group to ask a simple IT question. They need to lock that shit down so not any joe blow can send e-mail with it.
