Make sure you've a professional email

I always see this show up on 'tips to how to apply for a job'. I really don't see what's the point this. Okay I understand if your email is ConvictedCriminal@gmail.com maybe you want to change it, but assuming you're not applying to be a CEO or whatever (in that case you probably should buy your own email domain first) does a potential reviewer really think SineSwiper@gmail.com or Phantron@gmail.com is worse than don129428@gmail.com? I mean people do try to pick an email that's relatively unique and easy to remember so it's probably easier to remember something that's quasi-nonsense over (your name) + (a big number).

What they're saying is, don't have a SeekSmokesMiyamotoRegularly@hotmail.com or OneDrunkBastard@gmail.com or PartyGirl6969@yahoo.com. Depending on your internet pseudonym, you may not wanna incorporate that into your email either (I never would). But if you have a pretty generic one (mine's onlineshopper), it means nothing. So SineSwiper or Phantron wouldn't really say anything about you either way.

On a side note, you should always put your Facebook / Instagram / Twitter / Whatever social network account not in your name either (ie. rather than being Don Juan, you can be D.J. in Cali on Facebook). That's a fuck-lot more damaging than an email addy, even with privacy settings

Yeah I keep my nick on here @gmail as my main e-mail but I nabbed my first and last name at gmail for this very reason some years ago. I still tend to give out shrinweck though. I'm not exactly sending my resume in to anywhere that should care that I'm using a made up word.

Every time I see Mental pop online on the 360, I am reminded of his birthday.

I obviously have a few domains registered for myself so I us myname@sixfourdesigns.com and just route it through gmail.
