I'm sure some of you guys have heard about the Gawker writer Adrian Chen going after a reddit user going by the name Violentacrez. Exposing his real name and as a result getting him fired by his employer. Now this guy is no prized peach and even described himself as a huge troll. As much as I like Reddit it does bother me that some of the subreddit categories exist, and this individual was responsible for setting some of them up and moderating others. At the same time I don't know if I agree with this type of 'journalism' and doxing an individual.

What have you guys read and thought of the matter?Under Reddit logic, outing Violentacrez is worse than anonymously posting creepshots of innocent women, because doing so would undermine Reddit’s role as a safe place for people to anonymously post creepshots of innocent women.
I am OK with that.
