The Shrine

So I'm reading some guy is on track to win 6 championships in 7 years, but how does anybody dominate in such a thing? Does this guy turn left better than any other driver? Is his car just that much faster or is his crew just the fastest guys at changing tires? But why would such things be limited to just one particular team? Shouldn't the winner of the NASCAR be pretty random unless there's some secret technique to tune your car or change your tire?
