I don't think anyone on this board lives in San Diego, but I'm here until Sunday this week (November 18).

Do you have a car? Want some great suggestions for places to eat?

And I think you spelled it wrong. It's officially spelled "Whale's Vagina" :-)

But they do have some of the best Mexican food. (You're in Irvine, right?)

Yeah. Probably the best Chinese food you can get outside of Rowland Heights or Monterey Park, though everything is really expensive here.

I miss being next to Rowland Heights. The food and Arcade Infinity.

And yes, the Mexican food is awesome here.
When we went to the Comic Con in July, we tried out 7 restaurants from Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and one from Man v Food. Of those, there are 3 restaurants that are must-visits before you leave:

1) Lucha Libre (http://www.tacosmackdown.com/) - call ahead and make a reservation for the Champion's Table. This is a little hole of a place with great Mexican food. The table is this awesome, cordoned-off area in the middle of this small place that's just awesome. Amazing Mexican food, significantly better than El Indio, which is just down the road and was disappointing

2) Blue Water Seafood (http://bluewaterseafoodsandiego.com/) - also just down the road from Lucha Libre and right beside El Indio, it has awesome seafood tacos that are like $4 each but are HUGE. And you get great variety of seafood we don't see up here in Canada (I loved the Mahi Mahi myself) and even make a great chowder. Best part is, they use the homemade tortillas from El Indio which is easily the best part of that restaurant. You get the best of both worlds that way

3) Crazee Burger (the original one on San Diego Ave) (http://crazeeburger.com/) - this place lives up to its name. It has a stupid variety of odd burgers, from alligator to blue crab to antelope to kangaroo to whatever. My bud and I split 4 burgers there (most expensive is $14, most are under $10) and we liked all of them. We almost went back but had too many places we really wanted to go to.

If you're in the downtown area, just north of the Gaslight district is Hob Nob Hill. It has a pretty solid breaky. Not an absolute must-visit but certainly a good meal.

And while you're there, I would strongly suggest you visit the USS Midway. This was a toss-in the one day for us and ended up being phenomenally fun. It's not particularly expensive ($16 I believe) but man, it was a ton of fun walking around an aircraft carrier for 4+ hours. This thing is stupid big and it's fun as hell to see it from the inside (let the walkie talkie guide you get do all the work). Not only that, they have a flight simulator in there that you and a bud can do for $16 combined that's like playing a flight sim dogfight except you get thrown around like a rag-doll. Man, that shit was fun as hell. Then, as a bonus, you end up on the flight deck where they have something like 20-25 hueys and fighter jets to see. Make sure you stand in line to go up to the captain's station, I thought that was great.
