Are the Republicans really that dense or just R-Money?

No wonder they lost. They still don't believe they lost because not enough people believed in their ideals. Guess they really weren't kidding about ignoring the 47%

It's like they believe their own little world is reality rather than a subset of reality. I've never seen it this bad within the party in the past.

Is this how most of them really think now, that the reality they try to create for themselves is what's actually out there or is just R-Money and his super-rich friends just that out of touch?

Affordable healthcare as a 'gift'... Condescending pricks.

I thought you're supposed to offer gifts to convince the people who otherwise wouldn't vote for you (or vote at all) to vote for you.

The idea is that the 'gifts' (i.e. healthcare and semi-intelligent immigration reform) gave minorities and the uninsured a stake in the country that we wouldn't have otherwise had and that's why we voted, while Republicans had no comparable incentives other than god, bigotry, and their other usual schtick.

Improving life in the country for the majority as a 'gift'. That isn't political maneuvering that's literally what leaders are supposed to be doing.

It's not even about improving stuff. It's merely something that happens. I recall Obama says he supported same sex marriage and he cleaned up the homosexual vote. You can call it a gift but it isn't exactly free (some people might like Obama less because of his view), and at any rate there's nothing stopping Romney from saying the same thing.

It's true a lot of candidates promise stuff they can never do but Romney seems to be surprised that since he didn't promise anything, nobody ever gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Also, the GOP is building into a civil war, with a lot of opinions flailing. There are plenty of conservatives who recognize their failings and demographics/issues. Unfortunately, it make take several years for some real change on the right to happen.
