I went this past weekend to a DC comic, sci-fi, fantasy, pop culture convention that was its first annual. Hopefully they have it again next year as it was pretty fun. The people watching was, of course, amazing. I just wish they had more stuff to sell. I guess since it was only the first year holding it they didnt know what to expect, but they def needed a little more room and more vendors.

Adventure Time was everywhere, like Zeus said at a con he went to recently, and so was Dr. Who and Game of Thrones. I've never seen an episode of Dr. Who, though. I think its British and their shows suck balls. The best couple who dressed up were the people who did a perfect Elizabeth and Booker from Bioshock. It was very impressive. I wanted to get a picture of them, but i was too freaked out to get a picture with any of the people who dressed up. I'm sure they love the photo ops, though, and its half the reason people dress up, so i wont be so shy next time.

They had speakers and workshops and stuff. On Sunday when i went the people selling autographs and pictures were Billy West, Phil Lamar, some guy from Walking Dead who died really fast (Theodus Crane), and the black guy from the original Ghostbusters. I heard on Saturday the lady who voices Fiona from Adventure Time with Fiona and Cake was there.

So, i guess my con cherry is popped as 32 years old. It wasnt as nerdy as i thought it would be, but thats probably also because it was small. I did not dress up, but maybe next year i will!

Yeah. That small little con I went to in San Diego had a freakin' 4-story tall Finn just outside the front doors of the convention centre. I was amazed how big Adventure Time was.

You know what surprised me even more? How HUGE My Little Pony was. Hasbro had that shit EVERYWHERE over both their booths. People were carrying MLP bags everywhere with the toys in it and that shit was sold out...FAST. I still don't get Bronies, man....

Dr. Who always has a presence, the sheer volume of daily T-shirts available for Dr. Who is staggering. They were giving away foam Daleks at the BBC booth in San Diego. People are bat-shit crazy about that show. Firefly too. That 10th anniversary panel was almost as popular as the Twilight one...

And people will LOVE you to take their picture because you like their costumes. That was a constant thing at the San Diego Comic Con and everyone obliges. It's like a pride thing. I have tons of pics of people with their amazing costumes, including an incredible Dark Helmet one.

I'm going to the New York Comic Con in October. I wonder if it'll touch the craziness of the SDCC. It's supposed to be the second-biggest one now and is growing exponentially every year

The best part of the cons are...the girls. Seriously, it's amazing how many attractive, and single(like really?) girls there are at these things.

Haha, this one had a speed dating thing you could sign up for and some of the girls were pretty hot. They all seem to like to dress up as Harley Quinn. Sadly, i didnt partake as i'm dating and she was with me at the con. :P I think i would have cleaned up if i did, though, those uber nerdy guys wouldnt stand a chance.

Yeah, there are plenty. I wonder if New York will have just as many if not more.....

And there are booth babes too. But I honestly found the ones walking around more attractive

The booth babes are paid to be there, the cosplaying girls actually like being there, that's a definitive difference. :)

I wish I could make it to the Comic-Con in San Diego this year. I was too late registering. Oh well.....I'll likely be in the city anyway.

Yeah, cos-play girls are typically hot....now that I'm married, I won't even bother like I used to.

San Diego is an awesome city, period. Weather's amazing, it's clean and beautiful, great things to see...and great food. We went to 7 restaurants from DDD and one from Man vs Food. If you want some suggestions, let me know
