Thanks to all you guys who gave me big screen advice, here's how it turned out...

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>So after I asked you guys about everything last week, I decided to actually move my couch to the back of the room and see just what it would be like, and after realizing that my 27" Wega still looked pretty good from that distance, I decided that the 51" would probably be big enough, but a 57" would be nice too.
As the week ended, I was initially really pissed off that Circuit City wasn't having a President's Day sale and Sears' "All TVs on Sale" event just happened to exclude every model I was interested in, until my dad called me Friday afternoon and let me know that the discount electronics/appliance store that I had bought my current TV at - which WAS having a President's Day sale - did have access to the 65" Hitachi (their website doesn't say that, however, so I thought I was SOL).
Not being able to quote us a price over the phone, my dad and I drove down to the place on Saturday afternoon, at which time the sales guy let us know that they could order the 65" from their buying group for $2499.
(For reference, the only other place I'd seen the model I wanted was at Circuit City, and their prices were $2899 for the 65", $2499 for the 57", and $2099 for the 51".)
I told the sales guy that I needed time to think, and so we went to grab some lunch. And it was at lunch that my dad brought up that if they could get the 65", they could probably get the 57" or 51" too. We headed back to the store, I asked about the 57", and when the sales guy told me that set was $2199, I jumped at the chance.
So starting this Saturday (when it gets delivered) I will be the proud owner of a 57" HD RPTV, for which I paid $2300, tax and delivery included.
W00t!
