A four year article might be the death of Trump's campaign. It literally alleges that Mafioso "Fat Tony" Salerno built a lot of Trump's empire, among many other unsavory connections, and that he had the reporter jailed and harassed who exposed it.

As someone who has done a lot of construction, it is virtually impossible to not have organized crime involved (which is not to say you are specifically doing business with the mob or hell angles, they are just on every team). It is the reality of doing construction - workers often have criminal ties. Use to be the same for ports, but north america has really tightened that up since 2001.
