<div style='font: 14pt "Sans Serif"; text-align: justify; padding: 0% 15% 0% 15%; '>Very good book and I recommend it with no reservations. A few highlights.
-Gives some info on Romero and Carmack's youths. Romero had lots of issues with his Dad,who wanted him to stop wasting time with video games. Got his ass whooped by Daddy a few times for playing some many video games.
Carmack spent time in a home for juvenile deliquents after trying to break into a school with Apple II computers using thermite paste.
-These guys screwed over their boss at SoftDisk in Lousiana several times. They used his equipment without permission to make games for themsleves on their own time (after the boss seemed pretty generous) and sort of left him holding the bag when they all walked out.
-They had no reservations about letting long time friends go if they had the perception that they weren't contributing to the group.
-Romero's firing (essentially by Carmack) was enlightening and an interesting story.
-Romero's time at ION storm and the subsequent meltdown there was *especially* interesting.
-Didn't know that Romero was actually the better programmer when he and Carmack first met.
Anyway, I'm lazy and don't have time to write a real review. But definitely check out this book.</div>
