<div style='font: 11pt "Fine Hand"; text-align: left; '>El Cid is like Spain's George Washington. El Cid kicked out the Moors. Just commenting on how those bombings shifted from what was once a close race to a land slide.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Ferdinand and Isabella drove out the Moors during the time of Colombus, and "Cid" is a Moorish title used during the Middle Ages which means "Warchief".</div>

It means "Champion". And you're right, it was the royal family. El Cid helped weaken the Moors. Instead of George Washington of Spain, he was more of a mercenary.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>The name "El Cid" was probably derived from Moorish, but I will read your link in a bit. This is a bit history I have never come accross before.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>its just funny when you try to correct people about El Cid while admittingly knowing nothing about El Cid. In the legend, El Cid did win battles against the Moors so why even try to correct G-Man?</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Because it is fact that Ferdinand and Isabella drove out the Moores, and it is also fact that the word Cid is originally Moorish. I don't see what is so hard about that to understand.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>Nothing about that is difficult to understand. What's hard to understand is why you felt the need to contradict G-Man when he was technically right. You would have known he was correct if you knew the legend, thus sometimes you should shut your mouth instead of trying to be 'smarty pants'.</div>
