<div style='font: 10pt Impact; text-align: left; '>I'm looking to buy wireless for my apartment next year so my friends and I can pay for internet access to one room and split it to the rest of the apartment. I'm curious as to the draw backs and the pros to using a b or a g network or if I'm looking at the wrong company for this type of setup. Just wanted to know if anyone was using wireless networking now and to see how they liked/disliked it.</div>

As far as I know, the only difference is speed. 802.11b is 11 Mbps; 802.11g is 54 Mbps. I went with b mainly for Linux support, but also because I didn't see the point in spending that much more money for a less-than-order-of-magnitude speedup.
