<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>When smoking marijuana, it's different than drinking, firstly, it's a lot cheaper (unless you live in Russia or a similar place where alcohol is a lot cheaper than here). Secondly, when you smoke pot, it's not something that you just do at parties or on occaision, you can do it in the morning when you first wake up, at recess, at lunch, after school, and just about any time you want. When you get into it, it's almost like you're in another world, you stop caring about other things that are more important than getting high. Of course there are people who might smoke it only at parties and such, there isn't really a problem there, it's just that it is so easy to do it any time.

On whether it should be legal or not, I don't really care, it's mainly that I don't think that teenagers and younger people should be exposed to it.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt arial; text-align: left; '>Anyway, <I>abusus non tollit usum</i>. Is it easier to get addicted to weed than alcohol? Maybe for teens who can't legally buy alcohol yet, but otherwise, I'd say it's about the same.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "arial narrow"; text-align: left; padding: 0% 5% 0% 5%; '>1 gram of weed: $10
1 oz of weed (28g): Roughly $200-250 (really depends on who you get it from)

8-pack of domestic beer: $11-13
12-pack of domestic beer: $16-20

375ml rum/vodka/whiskey: $13-16
750ml "": $20-25

Rough numbers, but it's definitely cheaper to get high here than it is to get drunk (unless on Colt 45). It's VERY easy to find weed in Halifax. I think that's the reason we've had so many big hip-hop artists come here lately.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>BL has the rough prices below in Canadian dollars, just multiply those numbers by 0.8 to get the American conversion.

It's different depending on the province, it's a lot cheaper in Quebec. Unless you drink wine, then generally it's a good 20 bucks for a good night of drinking at the cheapest, whereas it only costs 10-15 bucks to be high all day.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>What? You can get a case (24 cans) of cheap beer for like 10 bucks american. You must be quoting decent stuff, or bottles, both of which an alcoholic or a college party will not buy.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>even still, an 8 pack of domestic for 13 bucks canadian (10.40 american) is rediculous. I dont pay $1+ per beer unless its premium at grocery stores (imported, high range stuff). Why the heck is beer so expensive there?</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I'm actually going to the BeerStore tonight here in Ontario. I believe it's around 14.95 for 12 and 26.95 for 24 here for domestics. But I buy imports or Steamwhistle.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>But as for quality, as a beer drinker, I've always liked Northern brands better than southern brands. Like Compare Corona or Bavaria to Alpine. Alpine tastes like liquid heaven whereas Corona and Bavaria taste like Perrier with a slight urine content. You can get beer in Mexico for 10 cents plus the price of deposit. I guess it's cheaper as you go south.

Sweden and Denmark have higher prices for beer than we do here. In Sweden, for a case (12) it costs the equivilent 20 bucks Canadian(in Swedish Crowns of course), which is a few bucks more than Eastern Canada.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "arial narrow"; text-align: left; padding: 0% 5% 0% 5%; '>Halifax has more bars per square kilometer than any other place on the planet.

Halifax has tons of breweries.

Nova Scotia is not a wealthy province (no thanks in part to Cape Breton).

People in Nova Scotia likely drink more, and more often, than anywhere else in North America.

Therefore, the provincial government can tax the fuck out of booze. I'd really like to know how much of the province's revenue comes from booze tax alone.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>For six bucks US you should be able to get close to a gram (depending where you are, but in the US it should be easy), which will get you WAY more wasted than a six pack of beer will.</div>
