<div style='font: 12pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Here's the tactic: Republicans are running up spending (primarily millitary) and cutting taxes to PURPOSEFULLY cause a fiscal crisis. The reason? So that they'll have an excuse to cut Gov. programs & regulations and privatize everything.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>They tried that during the Reagan years under a considerably more conservative political climate, and it didn't work. They tried it again after the 1994 elections and got slapped down. Republicans talk a big game, but they have a pretty poor record when it comes to cutting the welfare staet.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Doesn't matter. Who do you think passed that prescription drug entitlement to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars? Why has government spending grown at an annual rate of 4%+for the past four years? Who gave $80 billion in subsides to American farmers?</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>The Democrats controlled the House of Representatives in 1980, but there were a lot more conservative southern Democrats back then. It was a much more center-right era than it is now.</div>

They get a Republican in office for their trifecta, and end up acting like "tax cut & spend" Demopublicans. It might take a while, but the Republicans will catch on, especially if a Republican gets elected office in 2008/12.</div>
