<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>The only reason I don't get an Apple is compatibility and customizability (being able to interchange parts at will without having to pay an arm and a leg). I've always conceded they're better systems.</div>

Fuck this, I'm getting one. $250 for Christmas bonus, $200 from my boss because he dented my car, and $230 left from Christmas money.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Why? My computer at home has really crapped out on me, and this thing does everything I will use on a home computer. I'm not into PC Gaming at all, so I don't need the latest greatest video card etc. 512 Megs of RAM should do me just fine, and I'll upgrade it to 80GB storage.
Now I've got to see if they ship for free to Canuckistan.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I guess I'm just reacting to seeing an Apple computer under $1000. I really don't know shit about hardware prices - I haven't bought a computer since 1998.</div>
Looks cool, but i've decided it is just a laptop without a screen and in a box instead of flat...

<div style='font: 10pt Tahoma; text-align: left; '>The $900 model looks like it would be the one worth purchasing, but for maybe $300-500 more you could simply get a laptop and now have the option to take it with you places.
A laptop folded up could work just like this thing, most laptops have enough connections in them to add an external monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc... This minimac uses a G4 (not G5) so it isnt the most powerful Mac out, which means it probably is just as fast as a laptop mobile processor.
I've had my 'computer' since senior year of HS 6 years ago and i've since swapped out almost every part, so upgradability is a factor for me for a home computer. I've prevented myself from shelling out a ton of money while still being able to play the newer games as they come out (like HL2). I will only buy a non-upgradable computer if its a laptop since it obviously has the advantage of going mobile to Panera Breads, the couch, and other places.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt ; text-align: left; '>I agree, I've always considered them to be better designed, better engineered, and more fun systems to use. But they just don't have the software support that PCs do.</div>
