Is that bar between the avatar and the title necessary?

I think it looks kinda silly and find it distracting.

the graphic under your forum title? I agree that it could go the way of the dodo, we're all regulars, it isnt neccessary to categorize us based on total posts.

Yeah, I agree. Who even pays attention to those things anyway?

I probably want some better ranking bars, but I want to keep the system. When I get to it, I'd like to change it based on score instead of total posts. (Score would be SQRT(posts * words), like from the old script.)

The join dates are wrong too.

The join dates are the ones that were in RPGBoard, too. Like I said, the archive was wiped at 2001, so that can't be helped. If you know your exact, or even approx, join date, I can manually edit your record.

Mine was approximately September-October 1998, I think.

Your memory is better than mine. I came in anywhere between 3 and 6 months after the release of FF7, let here by that pervert EsquE.

I like the bar quite frankly, maybe the only thing I would change is showing the amount of posts we've all had, that may cause new users to be discouraged about what goes on here.
My date of joining was I want to say in November of 1998 before Thanksgiving.

Ah...that pervert Esque. haha
The only reason I remember is that I found this place a few months after I got the Internet for the first time which was spring of my junior year of high school which was 1998.

You've been here that long? Wow...I didn't know that.

I haven't been here that long compared to most of you guys. I joined around March 2000.
I probably would have started earlier, but the site was either down or had moved whenever I clicked on the link from the Mana Tree House. I assumed the board had died along with other MB's on the MTH's link page(Illucia comes to mind) and forgot about it. One or two years later, someone mentioned the Shrine on Eblana or the MTH, and I finally found the place.

My complaint about the bar is that I find it visually distracting; when I look up the left column, I think it would be best for the only color variety to be our avatars. But it looks like that's not a majority opinion.
I've been here since... 1999, I think. I can probably check some ICQ logs to be sure. I think Sine actually got me to post, originally, who I knew through Tort. I knew Andrew posted here, too, but I didn't start posting until Sine pulled in. And then I only posted in Ruminations for a long time.

I joined when I was...I think a Junior in high school, which would probally put me in around Jan or Feb of 98 as well.

I must have joined sometime in late 1997 or early 1998 - whenever the exodus from the sega-saturn.com forums happened. I can't remember who told me about this place - it might have been EsquE, but I think it was actually G-man. (Hard to believe he's still gone, huh?)
Regarding the bars, I'm not a huge fan of them since there's already a "poster qualifier" below everyone's handle (whose wording needs to be changed a little bit - M'k'n'zy has over 350 posts, and he's a "newbie"?) and the number of posts made is attached to every post as well, meaning that the same information is told three times over. But if the majority likes 'em, hey, who am I to rock the boat?

Yeah Loxy, I was inactive for a time, then I was uber spam n00b for like 8 months, then I chilled out for a time. I've posted based on my net connection, and that's why I haven't been posting as much because my network connection down here blows balls for some reason, and I don't think it has to do with my network.

Oof...sorry about that...involuntary reaction to the mere mention of that fucker's handle. He embodied the word "troll" like no one I've encountered since. (No, not even Seeker - this guy was that bad.)
*shudder*

And actually my original account got deleted somewhere along the line, because I spent about a year just lurking and not posting. So as a result my overall post count is quite a bit lower than it used to be.
I do agree tho, I can kinda understand the post ranks being high because we have some people here who have insane numbers of posts, but it seems a bit too high.

I came over around the MTH/Eblana migration thingamabob, but no way I could put a date on it. Not all that important to me anyway.
