Hey guys,

I was getting ready to do my taxes online this afternoon when TurboTax started bitching at me that my browser (Opera) wasn't accepted by them - so, I figured what the hey and downloaded Firefox (for some reason, the IE on this machine crashes every three pages these days, and I can't seem to repair it).

So anyway, you guys seem to know what sorts of extensions, etc. are good for this thing, so if you could gimme some examples/links I'd much appreciate it.

Oh, and sorry for the redundancy, I just didn't want to go searching for the old thread. :D

I like these:

All-in-One Gestures - lets you do lots of things with the mouse like move back and forward, open new tabs, etc

Gmail Notifier - if you have a Gmail account

Adblock - blocks ads

I must not fear! - Adds a little choice to the Tools menu that displays the Bene Jesserit Litany Against Fear from Dune. :)

Adblock is a requirement. BugMeNot is really good. I also have DictionarySearch, ieview, Firesomething, and FLST. There's another good one that shows the weather on the lower-right, but I forgot the name.

I'll have to get that Gmail Notifier.

Bugmenot's never worked for me.

Aside from Adblock, I have Image Zoom, Linkification (automatically turns text URLs into clickable links), Tabbrowser Extensions (gives you more options on how you set up tabbed browsing), Paste Quote (useful for phpBBs - lets you paste text in and it'll put the QUOTE tags around it automatically) IE View (lets you open a specific link in IE instead of having to open up the window and copy the URL over), and FireFTP (useful for quick uploads/deletions from my personal webspace).

Most should be available from the Firefox extensions page, if not a quick google will turn 'em up.

In the new version, you have to right-click on a UN or PW text field to get the BugMeNot option. It works most of the time, though I've had a site or two that it never seems to get through.

I've tried that. I must have shit for luck finding sites that play nice.
