Did you actually read the part that says:

The IFPI has already admitted that AllofMP3.com is operating within a loophole in Russian law, and that a successful prosecution would be unlikely

And I repeat. The RIAA just got fucked....at least until the Russians get around to changing the law.

Hindsight is 20/20. The IFPI is basically saying that AFTER they lost the fight at the starting gate. I'm sure they thought they had a case when they challenged the prosecuter to indict AllOfMP3.com. Goes to show how strong the loophole is.

The Russians have better things to worry about, like ensuring the stability of their country.

i'm actually fairly happy about it. my values have sort of degraded recently. i feel a little bad i guess about getting stuff from allofmp3, but truthfully i feel like the songwriters are usually the most overlooked in the process anyway, and at least they're getting something, if not much. now i don't have to scurry all over town looking for weird al albums at used cd stores or pay exorbitant ripoff prices for new cds.

EDIT: Sine, you're still a great purple godlike thing...and i'm sober this morning, so if anyone wants to call me crazy, just know that it's ME who's doing it...not the alcohol or wacky tobaccy... :D
