I got to ask this finally, what the heck is it? I always looked at it as a kind of mask or helmet, but looking closer i realize it looks like a big power generator... any story to this, Sine?

Ah! That explains the resemblance. I always thought that Moses on South Park was some cheap spoof of a Zordon-type character. I had no idea it was from Tron because I've only seen like 10 minutes total of that movie.
