Who the hell is Fuujin? I played to the end of Disc 3 and the plot got so ridiculous that I turned the damn thing off and never turned it on again.

Fujin is one of the two sidekicks around Seifer. She's the girl with the boomerang-ish weapon that forms a sentence in less than 3 words in all caps ("ELLONE, WHERE?") Actually, they're probably the more interesting characters in this game. The part Fujin actually talked normal was really good, IMO.

I think if you just play the first 2 CDs in FF8 you'd have seen everything that's worth seeing, minus a few more (mis)adventures of Laguna Loire.

I don't think most people would agree with you, if you ask most people who have finished the game they will tell you that the best parts of the game are on disc 3-4. The ending sequence in particular.

ugh...i just have scant desire to go back and play that again.
