So now we're back down to three forums. Does anyone remember whent he forums were Gameplay, Gamethought, and Ruminations only? The site at that time was extremely gaming oriented, so Ruminations was mainly just an advanced Gamethought forum.

Things certainly have changed a lot. I also might be dreaming, but I think even before that there were only two forums. I guess only Sine would remember any of those details.

Daily Stuph and M&M still feel like newer forums to me, even though DS is essentially just a different name for Ruminations (well what Ruminations had become until before DS was created).

Then we had the Starcraft forums at some point as well, and Questionnaires. We went a little nuts on the amount of forums we had at one time. Right now I see Gamethought as being sort of the central forum. I am not a huge fan of movies and TV, so I don't post in that one often except for recently. Gamethought, that forum is ancient, it will never die =)

When I first started posting it was just Gameplay and Ruminations...then things just blew up. And with the previous style of board...too many people meant conversations got lost. With the new style, topics don't disappear as quickly and current ones get pushed to the top. The need that was there before no longer exists...

I guess our peak was somewhere in 2000 or so, though the # of forums don't exactly represent the amount of msgs/day, since we made a few bad decisions on forum splits sometimes. Even now, we're still pulling about 45 msgs/day (average of this year), and the removal of the forums is partly because of the new format.

Pretty much back to our core forums now. Funny that they aren't the core forums we had 6-7 years ago; DS and M&M have been pretty good forum choices.

As soon as hockey season comes back, sports will be back as well.

you always forget that I hosted the thing on my server for like a month at one point when we had the major problems......lasted like a month before they booted us due to bandwitch usage I think it was....
