Appreciation!

You know, after posting here pretty consisently for a few months, I'm glad I have been. Kind of sorry I was so infrequent posting for pretty much the last five years. Even with all the arguments, this is one of the sites I visit almost every day, especially since I started working from home. I think there are interesting discussions here...

Let's hear it for the Shrine! I wonder if there are other independent boards like this that have lasted this long?

Well, for the most part, the Shrine has been Me, Don, G-man (RIP), Eric, Zeus, and Sine posting, and everyone else is just a bunch of extras.

I wouldn't call them "extras". I still value everybody's input, and there's a personality behind every poster. To call them "extras" is to completely ignore them as a person, and to think that they are stereotypical, faceless posters.

1) It's a Seeker comment

Alright, I'm an extra! I've only been posting regularly for the past six years, yeah, I guess I'm not around here much.

"Hey... do you know that Kupek guy?"

"The one who posted like six times yesterday?"

"Yeah."

"Never heard of him."

SORRY, I forgot one =)

So add Kupek into there as well.

Maybe i'll start posting useless dribble like WWE results and get up to posting god, too!

I may not be as prolific a poster as some, but I'm still around and post a little more than once a day.

If being an extra means that I dont' get into ridiculous bitchfests, then that's fine by me.

I suppose it wouldn't be the Shrine if an appreciative post couldn't easily degenerate into an argument.

*Sigh*

Welcome to the Shrine, newbie! :)

I love the fact that I've had pretty good arguements with almost every single one of you over the years :)

Slappy, El Kabong, Wolf Samurai, Red-something (chick), Seeker, Blackage/Eric, Gman, Sine, Kupek, Black Lotus, Barret, Mental, Flip, Crono, Ish, Tessian...maybe forgetting one or two.

You can't be called a regualar unless you fought with me at some point...

Uhh...Zeus, Gray...that includes you two...stupid fucking canadians!

If we had an argument, i cant for the life of me remember what it was about. I find almost everything you post now pretty damn funny so i must have had a paper cut inbetween my fingers or something that day.

Mixed Martial Arts events (UFC, K1, and PRIDE), the things I post results from, are completely different from WWE; but I would imagine someone who posts mainly about Nascar, Golf, cow tipping, and republicans is probably too ignorant to realize that.

Seek, if you don't shut up, I WILL start a vote to ban you. Maybe I should let Flip fight his own fight on this one, but 90% of what you've posted lately has just been condescending, fight-baiting crap.

Lol.

Search, "WWE", "The Seeker", Sports --- 30 results

Search, "Nascar", "Flip", All Available Forums --- 0 results

Also, i think we should start a new poll for fun...

We went pretty good here:

viewtopic.php?t=7803&highlight=flip

I think most people "get it" by now and can't be seriously baited, I doubt you really were in that thread.

Verbal 'swordplay' is pretty damn amusing, I'm still chuckling after reading our back and forth

The Internet taught me long ago when it's a complete waste of my time to continue an argument or to even jump in at all.

It's a valuable skill to have.

Nah, it's not a complete waste of time. When your goal is to "win" the argument, then yes, all you're going to do is get everybody pissed off and waste hours of time. On the other hand, if you want information, and pass out information in return, you might actually learn something. If somebody changes your opinion, and thus you "lose" the argument, it is not a loss, because you learn something out of it.

I have a friend at work who's very good at "winning" arguments (verbally, anyway). As such, he is very hard to get into an actual conversation with, and acts like a fucking asshole when he gets into an argument.

I'm perfectly capable of those benefits simply by reading the argument. I don't need to waste my time and get involved.

I normally don't have much to post, but I do read everything. Not much interests me nowadays... you'd have to understand that my life revolves around work, Street Fighter 3/Halo 2, eating pussy, and drinking a lot.

If there's a longer-running, more dedicated message board out there I haven't seen it. Cheers to you all (except Seeker and Ish... bloody homos).

It depends on if the right things are being asked by the other parties.

As far as the Shrine goes, yes I am the biggest asshole here now that G-man has gone. If I ever go (which I won't, because I think I am the longest serving member here, I have been ehre solid since I arrived), in theory, someone else would take my place. When I go on vacation, sometimes crazy things happen like Don becomes the biggest asshole here =P So I think that all of us are assholes to an extent, some of us are louder than others. I think the least aHoly person here is Barret; Agent 57 is down there; Eric is slipping too =)

Seriously though, if it wasn't for everyone arguing against Don, I would have ranked him as being one of the least arrogant people here, but I know that others would dissagree.

Who does claim the rank of least arrgoant person at the Shrine?

(suppresses laughter) Oh boy, I don't even know what to say to that one...but when I think of "least arrogant" I don't usually think of "claiming ranks".

"I'm least arrogant!" "No, I am!" "No way, me!" "It's ALL ABOUT ME as the least arrogant person at the Shrine."

LOL!

I dont even remember Seeker until maybe 4 years ago. The people who still stick out in my mind fomr when i started are Sine, Crono, Mental, G-Man, Ish, Don, Lox and Tort.

You're only jealous because my milkshake is better than yours.

And yeah, I hear ya. My life is a pretty shallow existence. Maybe I should be out making the world a better place. Hmmm....

My mind is made up. Ish takes the award. No one takes verbal abuse like Ishamael.
