<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>This boy rode a bike and ran into a plow-thresher. He had a giant spike shoved into his brain. However, it somehow "missed" his brain, like the layers of his brain were just pushed out of the way, instead of torn apart. Of course, he had to go to the hospital, etc., but he recovered without any brain damage.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>Dogs can heal legs pretty quickly, and freezing somebody/thing doesn't kill it. (I'd be more surprised if they threw it in the microwave and it lived.) And yes, I read the article.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "Comic Sans MS"; text-align: left; '>Close. Phineas Gage. He was used as a psychological experiment after that since that spike was more or less an instant lobotomy. IIRC, the results were about the same.</div>
