So while the Shrine was down I decided to go ahead and make my own board. It's not quite up yet, but at least it's working... (and mysql seems to be mostly asshattery...thank goodness postgresql actually worked first try)
I'm not trying to replace the Shrine; it's just that what I want out of a message board seems to have diverged from what Sine wants, and I'm going to try to jumpstart this one as soon as it's finished (which could be as soon as tomorrow actually, and probably by Wednesday at the latest). The main differences would be, (most likely), a public listing somewhere on a search engine or two, and a rudimentary code of conduct. I do realize that the last one might be construed as censorship, somewhat, but my repeated altercations with Kali and especially Seek have made want to build in some sort of protection against that type of asshattery (I like that word). I do respect Kali for his honesty, but I still think he can be incredibly condescending, and at this point I almost feel like the less said about Seeker's fights here, the better. Also, I plan on living up to my own code of conduct and holding myself to it as strictly as everyone else, so that should avoid anything like the brouhaha between Tort and myself.
Everyone here is warmly invited to start an account there as soon as I get it up, with the exception of Seeker, who's still invited to start an account if he can agree to abide by the code of conduct I will have posted. I'm not posting the domain yet just because the site isn't quite secure yet, and though I doubt anyone here wants to haxx0r my board, I'd still rather not take any chances since I'm serving it straight off my computer.
W00t, and I hope to see you there in a few days.
