Well, his grasp of the difference between electrical potential (volts) and electrical current (amperage) is a little shaky, but he does have a point in that it might not be a good idea to live in a house in the Midwest without a lightning rod. We don't really need them here in California.

Perhaps he meant one "bolt" of lightning?
