What the shit is up with the world? I wonder what
this series of horrible, vicious attacks is all about.

Current speculation is that these are other, less-professional groups that were trying to copy the bombings to some extent. Al Quada wannabes, if you will.

I don't know that I have the necessary wisdom yet to say or think something that will put that into the terrible perspective it deserves.

83 people? That's nothing compared to what's going on in other countries:

I'm well aware that the civilian body count in Iraq is high, Seek, but I do think it sucks that an area that had been relatively peaceful just experienced a terrorist attack as well.

It's more like the story of a murder in an East End neighborhood (read: East = rich), and the people in the neighborhood getting so scared of "oh my god! a murder here?!". Meanwhile, crime rates in the West End are still rising and out-of-control.
It's all relative to where you're looking at, but when looking at the pure numbers, Iraq is a much worse situation.

I'm just curious if the North American media will take note of the fact that this is mainly an Arab tourist destination and stop grouping all Arabs as terrorists

CNN.com had a story on it, but it didn't even hit the "top 5" on the world news page. I'm losing respect for them almost every time I visit the site.

I don't think even the NA media is grouping up Arabs as terrorists in this case.
