I know hindsight is 20/20 but, why wasn't this done in NOLA?

I dunno, but if she is she is doing it in a rather mean way.

I'm guessing more people are going to get the hell out of the way this time.

It always amazes me that people think it's a good idea to build settlements in natural basins below sea level, or on the slopes of volcanoes etc. I can imagine that planning meeting... "what about the really windy things that pour half an ocean into our homes?" "oh, it'll be fine..." "what about the big mountain with fire coming out of it?" "oh, it'll be fine too" "what about the ground that opens up and swallows everything we've built?" "never happen, it'll be fine"

sigh... guaranteed as soon as the storm passes everyone will flock back and nobody will sell up and move somewhere else.

I do have a degree of sympathy for the poeple that are facing yet another major event, but I would have gone several hurricanes ago and I wouldn't be back.

The degree of loss experienced by many is truly terrible, and I sincerely hope that some good does come out of this. Best wishes to those in the firing line.

My Aunt Joyce lives in Gal. and she is at my house in STL now. I'm not sure about my Aunt and Uncle in Houston though.

And sine, that quote is funny, and while it does kinda fit, in a way it is inappropriate. I still chuckled though.

The evacuation is crazy. My sis lives in Houston, but she left with her boyfriend to stay with his parents in Arkansas. That trip should only take about 6 hours, but they were on the road for 20.
