It's not pessimism. It's me remembering that the last few years, October is pretty much a dead month in terms of interesting conversation or even normal conversational flow, because people are too busy trying to be clever with how they type out their posts.

Honestly, I got bored with it. Let's cancel it this year. We can all dress up as Trogdor instead.

I think I made an indepth breast-addicted nick/identity, posted a glowing review for the new Leisure Suit Larry game and tried to derail a few threads with any possible connection to boobs.

Ya, it was lame, but maybe 2 or so other people put any effort in it. The rest just made an alt nick and one random (nt) post.

In other words, if we are gonna do it...lets see some effort this year.
