So, my GF just called a few minutes ago. Apparently, her dad has a friend whose wife works for the Krafts - "the Krafts" meaning "the family that owns the Patriots" - and so for an early birthday present, she managed to get us tickets to Sunday's game vs. the Chargers.
26th row, lower section, on the 20, no less. Kick ass!

siiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh.......at least the first half was pretty fun...
(Oh, and the tickets weren't exactly free. They were free for me, since they were a birthday present, but my GF still had to pay for them.)
At any rate, I just have to keep chanting "5-5" to myself over the next few weeks - i.e. the Pats' record in the 2001 season before they ripped off nine straight wins to take the SB that year.

As great a team as they've been, they can't keep reeling off 9, 12, or 15 game streaks to win the 'Bowl. I mean, Indy is a MUCH more balanced team now, as is KC. It's getting harder each year

Oh, I have no delusions about how special the Pats' run over the past four years has been, and I also have no delusions about their ability to win it all this year (at this point, it would basically take a miracle).
I still think they'll have an excellent season, what with six games left against the rest of the pitiful AFC East (sorry dude, but I somehow doubt Kelly Holcombe will help any, and you miss Spikes like we miss Rodney), and will finish 11-5, or 12-4 if they can pull off yet another stymie of Peyton, and they'll be a tough out in the playoffs, but even after a whole season of having the new guys get coached in the system, at this point I don't see them going into Indy, San Diego, or Pittsburgh and winning a playoff game.
At least I can look forward to not having people hate my team any more, right?
