And I thought American marketing stunts were outrageous

I was looking up Seeker's playlist from the Music/Movies forum, and I read about these two girls. Good looking out on these two, Seek.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T.A.T.u.

I can't tell if using teenage lesbian sex as an image to sell music records is exploitation or pure genius. I'm actually thinking it's more of the latter.

Whatever else can be said about the whole thing, I think it's almost unarguable that Julia Volkova is ridiculously hot. And she's 21 now, so I don't have to worry about the FBI breaking down my door the day after I post this...pure, unadulterated carnal lust is such a wonderful feeling.

I love Tatu, they're about the only new band this decade that I do like. I do have a thing for East European accents though. They weren't that big in the US, but were absolutely huge in the rest of the world (sold like 10 million albums in Europe).

My favourite songs by them are:

How Soon Is Now - A cover of the Smith's smash hit from the 80's. It is rare that a band takes such a high profile song and is able to actually make it sound better; these two did. This was off their first album

Cosmos (Outer Space) - this is the third track off of their new album (All About Us is the major single right now) and I find it to be the best song off the album.

Off the new album is also one called Loves Me Not which is a fairly high paced song, this was the first song that really got me on the album, but I came to like Cosmos better.

Then there is Friend or Foe, which has Sting involved in the production and performance.

All About Us is their current big single, the video for it is banned in the US, and heavily cut in Canada; but you can download it =P It's not really that bad, I find.

And yeah, on their looks, they became hot =)

I think Lena is the better looking of the two though, at least in the video.

That was so totally a necessary comment. I'm being serious, too.

Really, you can trust me. I have no sarcasm in my soul whatsoever. Honest Injun.
