Ya know, it might make me a pariah, but I think y'all are getting pretty cowardly with all the downloading.

You guys paid for any creative work in the last year? I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but supposedly within a decade or so the major recording labels will be nearly completely KO (they may survive, but in something very far from their current form).

It's debatable whether or not they deserve it, as that industry can be quite shady, but with you guys all over TV torrent sites like a bunch of shoplifters during a riot, one wonders whether or not *any* creative work is going to survive the next century as something one can be paid for. And as a budding game designer, that scares the shit out of me. Luckily, my industry tends to be less prone to piracy than movies or TV, and we know far more tricks to beat all you dorks at this shit, but it still saddens me that you guys are so willing to sacrifice someone's right to be paid for their work to the gods of download expediency.

I own Death Note Vol 1-11, and Claymore Vol 1-8.

I usually buy manga as it's brought over, but it's brought over slower and I'm sure as hell not gonna wait for the slow ass translators.

Then I will reserve my ire for Zeusy, who ought to know better.

They do it by volumes.

Claymore itself is a monthly manga mind you.

Recently the guy who was supplying the world with weekly scans in Japan got arrested so now there's like a 2-3 day delay on the weekly translations (used to get them before the serialized stuff comes out, now have to wait for that to come out first).

I end up buying about half of the stuff I read online, but then Chinese manga are exceptionally cheap because we pay like half the copyright royalty to the original owner. In fact it'd be cheaper if you import stuff from China and then sell it in Japan, which is why that's illegal.

Lately there's a lot of fun drama in the Chinese pirated manga scheme. There are sites who apparently refuse other people to use their translation, as if they actually own this stuff. One of the sites, www.jojohot.com, has these adds for poor starving children in Africa as if they think this whole piracy scheme they're running is doing the world a service.

I have well over 200 volumes of manga and a bunch of anime on DVD as well. Yeah I download a lot, but if its really good, I buy the domestic release as well, unless they screw the series over (eg what Viz did to Rockman.EXE, where you cant get the original Japanese)

Sorry, as I've stated before, I don't like paying $20 for 4 episodes.

Some of the anime stuff gets repackaged in more reasonable deals if you're not buying the latest stuff. Back when Laser Disc was still being used, you can usually find a lot of cheap stuff on LDs.
