Love the premise....love the book (mostly because of ben templesmith as steve niles was definitely not the greatest writer at that point in his career. Ben Templesmiths art was brilliant and creepy and suited it perfectly....And the movie was fantastically true to his creative punch. it does follow the story of the comic pretty well and I think the reason I liked the movie is that it added to the sub-par story of the comic which helped a lot. I was expecting to think it was complete shit but instead. it's a decent movie. it's nothing spectacular. but I didn't feel cheated at the end. honestly though. even though it added more to the character foundations than te book had (which does make it better than the book which isn't an often occurence) it still had the same problem the book did. at the end of the day you really just ddn't give a shit about most of the charactersso there was no real emotional gut punch at any point in the movie that made you feel for anyone as they got mercilessly torn apart by feral savage vampires.. still all in all a decent movie. I was expecting the book and got something a little better
