This happened a few weeks ago, June 22, but I am just hearing about it now. He was flying alone in a small plane which crashed in mountains in California.
He composed a variety of great soundtracks, including several James Cameron films. I felt his best were Bravehesrt and Titanic, which complimented each of the movies incredibly.
