Harry Shearer, who voices many different characters, is retiring from the show. He's by far the oldest of the core cast, at age 71; but still chose to walk away from 14 million for two more seasons. The official story is he wants to do something else before retirement.
He voices dozens of characters including major characters like: Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, Smithers, Dr. Hibbert, Kent Brockman, Otto, Lenny, Reverend Lovejoy.
Last time a voice actress left, they killed her character off; that's why Maude's voice was different in her death episode... Even though after a few seasons her actress was resigned, so some of Mayde's ghost scenes are back to the original actress.
