Anybody watching this? I'm watching it right now and digging it. Thirty-something Angelinos and relationships. Stars Gillian Jacobs from Community.

I watched it cause I like Paul Rust and... yeah Gillian Jacobs is pretty nifty. It wasn't great and I came in expecting a comedy which it really wasn't. It had two or three real laughs but other than that it was mostly a drama.

It was good - I'll watch a second season.

Okay so I watched the full season. I really liked the first few episodes but they kept making the characters more and more neurotic as the season went on. Towards the end they were so immature and neurotic that I had trouble relating to then. I wondered why it only had 2 1/2 stars when I started, now I know.

From what I can tell (and a quick google search) Netflix doesn't even show you the average review any more - it's its best guess for you based on how you've voted on other things. So when the predictive score is low it usually isn't worth watching. I very seldomly disagree with the prediction. It's fairly impressive. It doesn't even let me negate my vote so I can see what the predicted score was. But it was probably 4+ stars for this lol.

On the other hand, it shows not even two stars for Fuller House for me. Probably accurate. I wasn't going to bother any way.

I think these days the only way to see the average score is to go to dvd.netflix.com (not logged in) and look things up manually. Love isn't listed there though. You can see the difference in scores for things you haven't seen immediately (despite Netflix not identifying between the average/prediction).

New No-Nos?

My favorite thing about the series is Claudia O'Doherty as Bertie.

Fuck yeah another Comedy Bang Bang nerd. And yeah Claudia O'Doherty was wonderful.

Last night I was in a chat with some people who ended up discussing music. The conversation shifted to No Doubt and someone couldn't remember who they were. I said it's the band whose drummer went to high school with Scott Aukerman to the silence of everyone lol

Yeah, she's pretty great on the show.

Also another comment on the show: the plot resembles that of many Animes/Mangas. An awkward nerdy guy character is thrown into a situation and has to contend with multiple women falling all over him.

I've been thinking lately of just beginning every encounter with a new person by dropping a 'Heynong man.'
