As some of you already know, I have a high level of interest in video game music remixes. I've posted links to OverClocked ReMix and VGMix in the past, and those are both good, but there's one other site that I frequent that I wanted to tell you guys about:

http://dwellingoduels.rock-out.net/

"Dwelling of Duels" is the homepage of a monthly contest (usually with a specific theme) for VG remix artists who play live instruments. Some of these guys are incredibly talented, and some of the songs are ridiculously good - for example, the winner of last month's contest is a nearly 22-minute remix of pretty much the entire Super Metroid soundtrack. It's fucking incredible, and definitely worth checking out at the beginning of every month (when all the entries are still available for download).

Heh, cool. Always on the lookout for VG remixes, especially instrumental ones.

You happen to have any of the previous entries?

I do have a bunch of them - however, I didn't start visiting the site regularly until after the July contest (Zelda), and thus only really started collecting DoD entries then.

I suppose I could get what I have to you somehow - burn a CD or something - or you could head over to the <a href="http://theshizz.org/forum/index.php?s=5 ... Minibosses message board</a>, which is where all of the judging, voting, etc. takes place, and ask around to see if any of the original artists have their contributions hosted somewhere else. Let me know what you decide.

Thanks for the link, all of what I've gotten off of the website is good stuff.

Posted a thread on the boards and now some guy is uploading the songs to some other guy's FTP site. It's not complete yet, but it should be done in a few days.

Torgo, you freaking rock. (Indirectly) Thanks to you, I now have all of the DoD entries neatly arranged in folders by month, and they all have meaningful filenames and everything. (Before this, I just had them all stuffed in a "Other Remixes" folder, and they all had really vague filenames.)

Thanks again for the extra effort - but speaking of, here's a little extra for you (well, and anyone else who reads this thread, but whatever): the <a href="http://virt.vgmix.com/">homepage of virt</a>, the composer of those two godly Metroid remixes this month, "Blood of Ganon" from the Zelda contest, and other assorted goodness. The guy freaking rocks, no two ways about it, and he's got some more nifty stuff on his page (including a chiptune remix of "Thriller" that's actually a lot better than it might seem reading about it). Enjoy.

No problem. Thanks for letting us in on this great find.
