I really liked the movie. I didnt know much about it except it had Natalie Portman in it. I could have sworn that Largeman (Zach Braff) was related to Charlotte from Lost in Translation (Scarlett Johansenn) They have the same features and mannerisms.

I liked it. It wasn't your typical chick flick.

Actually, I think Zach Braff bears an uncanny resemblance to David Herman(MAD TV alumn, Michael Bolton in "Office Space"). That was on my mind through the whole movie.

I like Braff in Scrubs, but Garden State was the most overrated movie of last year. I simply cannot enjoy the movie, short of getting a lobotomy. Very cliched story of a boy who leaves home to find himself, and upon returning home realises everything he's ever wanted was there in the first place. Blech. Add in the wretched dialog ("let's do something TOTALLY ORIGINAL! Weeeooota!"), Natalie Portman's braindead, annoying character, and Ian Holm being totally wasted... the movie's popularity just bafffles me.

Sorry to shit all over the movie, I know a lot of you enjoyed it.

It seemed to have a lot of parallels with Punch Drunk Love, actually. Both involving a emotionally-challenged guy who is faced with these surreal situations while falling in love with a flawed woman. I think it was the only other movie that seemed to fit the mold of the unusual scenes, though Shellie's comparison of Lost in Translation was pretty good (the plot, not Scarlett).

Not to say that it's a bad thing. Overall, I really liked the movie.

Ahh Punch Drunk Love. I thought I might be the only guy in the universe that liked that movie.

PDL was alright, but no Boogie Nights or Magnolia.

i respect garden state if only for its rampant rejection of america's desire to medicate its youth.

I saw the movie last year I think; it was more or less just another movie for me, I didn't really think much on it to form any strong opinions other than that.

I thought it was excellent. Especially the ending. Slightly cliche but still a good film that was left out of the Oscar noms...*very upset*...So anyway, I loved it, I wish I had time to watch it.

Don't worry, I'm sure it will win a bunch of MTV/Blockbuster movie awards voted on by the teens who don't know any better. :D
