Wow this is getting really good. I knew that Gai also knew how to open the gates, but he just more or less went instantly to the 6th gate being open! And the fact that he pulled nunchucks out was badass ^_^

The Itachi fight is going interesting as well. I had forgotten that he was that fast.

Why would the master be less capable in opening gates than his student?

They more or less openly state that Lee is a genius in his ability to do that, so it is entirely possible.

It'd appear everyone in the Naruto world is a genius besides Naruto.

No, the only characters really refered to that way are Sasuke, Neji, Lee (opening the gates) and Shikimaru. Other than that no one really is.
