"No! Not him TOO!"

"RAAAAAGGGGGH!"

NetFlixx is very nice. Getting caught up on a lot of stuff I missed back in the day. Oh yeah, the originator of that quote is the man. I STILL wonder if he's a good guy. :)

Blade Runner? I'm still looking for the NON-director's cut version of that DVD.

The only one I acan think of is Terminator....

And Sine, there's a big issue with the Blade Runner DVDs. Ridley Scott owns the original version and someone else (not sure who; I think it might be the same people who owned the rights to make the PC game) owns the theatrical version. If I'm not mistaken, the other owners can't actually release a DVD without Scott's permission. That's why we haven't seen one yet. And they can't seem to come to an agreement regarding a version with both on it since Scott prefers the director's cut.

It's a weird IP rights issue. You're not the only one waiting for it.

I guess I'll have to settle for my crappily bootlegged VHS version of the non-DC. Young and naive I was when I bought that at a sci-fi convention thinking it was an actual copy. Take it home and there is a white line around everyone's body making them look like they were chopped out of the picture then edited back in.

Pathetic. I figured you'd know a Vegeta quote when you heard one. And you have the nerve to put Vegeta's picture on this site's header? hah!

Well, maybe for some, but there are some of us who have a deep disdain for the show and can proudly say that hell would freeze over before we recognized a quote from that show.

So, it's not really pathetic if you don't watch the show.

I have to agree. I could never get the massive appeal of DBZ - especially the TV show. The mangas you can read at your own pace, but I watched about two episodes of the Frieza saga, and the plot advanced perhaps a tiny, tiny fraction.

"Bambambambambambambam"

"I'll destroy you!"

"Bambambambambambambam"

"Rrrrrrahhhhhhhh!"

"Bambambambambambambam"

"I'll destroy you!"

"Bambambambambambambam"

"Rrrrrrahhhhhhhh!"

Repeat as necessary. It was interesting, but I don't know that I'd call it fine cinema.

The first saga is rather slow paced, especially with the Freiza battle. The overall series is still somewhat paced like that, but there's meaning in most of the episodes. They wanted to focus a lot on the fighting itself, instead of making it an afterthought. Naruto is sometimes like this, but they seem to handle the pacing a lot better.

Where is Gentz when I need him? HE'D have a witty, in-depth commentary. All I can do is go into a corner, fold my arms and pout while giving you my dirtiest stare.

You're right. I don't know how people got on when they were just showing one of these a week. With Netflix/internet, you can watch massive doses at once, which is pretty tolerable....and enjoyable even.

Yeah, I can see how it might be fun if you can watch a bunch at once. It was pretty epic. I was lucky enough to be watching reruns on some channel that was showing two at once per day, but even that felt slow.

I don't mind waiting weeks between TV show episodes (as long as they're on a relatively consistant schedule), especially for shows that like to end on cliffhangers.

That said, there is major appeal to blowing through an entire season of a show in short order.
