I really don't know what to say about this film so I'll keep it short. What I want to say is that maybe hollywood did put this out too soon, but maybe they put it out for the wrong reasons as well. Some of the inflight commentary was taken from the recordings people had of the victims when they were calling from the plane. In my opinion, there was too much time that passed between the plane being taken over and the plane crashing. I think in this film the americans on the plane are percieved mostly as lambs to the slaugther rather than Heros.

If what happened on the ground that day at the flight control places was in fact true, then we seriously need to look at how one agency gets information to another. Liasons are useless. The higher-ups all need to talk to one another.

Also the president should be shackled at all times, or at least have a fucking cellphone that he keeps on him for executive decisions. It was bullshit that the military had to act on it's own accord to try and keep our skies safe.

Clearly we were caught with our pants around our ankles and are dicks pissing into the wind on september 11th, but I don't think hollywood needs to remind us that's how it was.

That was part of the problem: we were lambs to the slaughter, because people preceive that as long as they cooperate, they'll still be alive. Sometimes people are so afraid of dying that it's a little scary.

Anyway, yeah, I agree that it was too soon to be putting out the movie, but from the reviews I've read, it received a good treatment from the director.

I thought it was an extremely well done film. It was told purely through the perspectives of the air traffic controllers and the passengers, and there's no hindsight at all, so it allows us to share in their confusion. The passenger segments were handled tastefully. We never really get to know their names (though the actors are portraying the actual individuals as listed in the credits), and no single passenger is made out to be a hero. I don't really have an opinion on whether it's too soon to release a 9/11 movie, but even if it is, I feel it was done respectfully enough to honor the victims.
