People will still watch it, at least the first 10-20 episodes.

I was under the impression that the series' wouldn't follow any of the main characters, aside from a few mentions or appearances here or there. There goes that theory, I guess.

That's what Lucas originally said.

I'm up for this one, for the first 10 eps anyways. A limited run series (looks to be about the length of most HBO shows) will ensure that there's proper closure and pacing in the show (unlike, say, Lost).

Let's just hope it turns out good.
