Think of the movie like this, unlike Titanic you don't wait 2 hours to watch the boat sink, it happens in the first 10 minutes.
The movie has nice special effects, and it's fun to guess who's gonna die and how they're gonna bite it before the movie ends.
Entertaining but don't expect to care at all about any of the characters.

It is a remake of The Poseiden Adventure with Gene Hackman... one of my favorite movies of all time. I have it on my Netflix list and should ge the new one soon.

Yes, the original was better imo. This one was much flashier, but if you enjoyed the original you might as well take a look at this one.

That's about all I was expecting, an eye-candy actionfest. If my satellite ever comes back up I'll check it out

The original was MUCH better.

Wow, besides the premise of an upsidedown boat, the remake was completely different. They totally changed the characters, ending, and basically everythign inbetween.
It was entertaining, but no where near as good as the orginal. I liked how in the original the two alpha males were always screaming and fighting, it made for pretty good dramatics, even if slightly over the top.
