SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER BSG SPOILER

So what the fuck was that last episode? Did they finally run out of paralleling world events and tragedy to sop it all up with the now obvious love square (or line) between characters? I hope they only did this as a side story.

Now, for what I did like. Overall, I liked the last episode. In fact I loved it. It was what we all needed. A break. It was an excellent choice and especially the first 5 minutes or so were just so stunning. Most of the camera effects were effective and not too cheezy, some of the fighting, towards the end of Kara and Lee's fight was defintely a bit more drawn out than it needed to be but it was still pretty fucking good. It made a lot of sense, it cleared some things up, and it opened some new doors for the rest of the show in as far as side stories. Maybe I'm just a lonely sad sack sap right now but I did truely enjoy this episode. Most people I've read on Digg hated it out right. This was one of the better episodes even if it was only filler.

I would have been content if the whole episode had been boxing. As it was, I didn't enjoy the flashbacks very much. I was especially disappointed that they decided to delve back into the Starbuck/Apollo romance. Just let it die! It was never very appealing in the first place and all their flashbacks did was strengthen the notions that Starbuck is incredibly erratic and that Lee is a big mope. Wah, wah, wah... fight some fucking Cylons already.

filler episodes FTL :(

I do wish they would tune down the drama a bit and beef up the scifi...I mean come on guys, I don't wanna watch someone whine for 20 minutes only to have it stop so someone else can have a turn.

Life sucks, I get it, now entertain me!

I loved the last episode. No way is it side-episode-filler material. As you saw from the reactions of their respective spouses, there will definitely be ramifications that affect future episodes.

Let me say this about BSG. If this were any other show, this *would* be side-show-filler material. But the writing on this show incredible - they find a way to make even the side-show-filler material have impact that last beyonds the episode.

I personally really liked the episode.

The new BSG is a lot more character driven and has much more (or better) character development than a lot of Sci-Fi shows I watch. Some people don't like this.

I find it to be done in such a way that it enhances the show when these character elements are involved in the action packed episodes.
