I think many of us have played the game based off of the story, now there is a movie with Ken Watanabe as Cao Cao and Chow Yun Fat as Liu Bei.

There are a lot of movies based on the ROTK period. It's the equivalent of WW2 for the Chinese.

That may well be, but this one actually has a chance of being released here.

I don't think the ROTK story would be too interesting without the Chinese = Han = Liu Bei cultural bias in it. I assume they're not actually going to try to portray the actual history, and the novelized version is no different from your standard good triumphs over evil, and it's because Chinese identifies themselves with the Han. Otherwise Liu Bei is just a guy hiding behind some nasty terrain trying to become the next Emperor.

that's fine, the games are hardly accurate either =)

I have not seen a Romance of the Three Kingdoms movie before, I didn't even know that Ken Watanabe spoke chinese, I wonder if they plan on doing this in English?
