I hope to hell 28 Weeks Later is as good as its prequel. That was such a great movie.

It was the one where the people acted rather logically for the most part, and not like complete idiots as in most horror themed movies.

It also had a very interesting concept behind it, and they took the small budget they had a long way. I think the only thing really holding the movie back was the cast and some of the script details. Even with all of this, the movie was quite a critical success; and commercial as well, especially considering they were working on a much lower budget than the RE movies.

The concept, in my opinion, is the best one so far in the genre.

I seriously think I might like this one better than the original. I am really looking forward to it.

FYI Seek, this is where you lose credibility. You can't say things like that. You can be excited for its release, yes, but to already say "I'm going to like it more" is just silly

I rewatched 28 days later last weekend. I like the movie, but it had so much more potential. The beginning and middle were great, but turning the main guy into Rambo at the end was stupid. Plus, why did he think releasing the chained infected guy in the lawn was a good idea? The women were still in the house and could have been victims just as easily as the army guys...

Good idea, well setup, WORST ENDING EVER!

Watch the extra alternate ending on the DVD, the one with storyboards only. That was the best ending IMO

28 Weeks Later would have been a good movie, but you could never see what was going on due to the fucking Blair Witch shakey cam used for like half of it. So, for me, this movie easily ends up as the biggest dissapointment of the year.

The movie had Robert Carlyle in it as a fairly major role, that was about the only major plus I can think of besides sound editing. Carlyle is an excellent actor (playing the main villain in a Bond movie (TWINE), Hitler - The Rise of Evil, Trainspotting, and Ravenous) but he didn't save this movie.

One other thing I should mention, the movie is a total gorefest. It had one of the most brutal killings I have ever seen in a movie.

He said he might like it more. How is that any different from when you lament on how horrible you think Transformers will be?

I have historical evidence supporting my theory

Right, all of the other Transformers movies Michael Bay has directed.

No, every movie he's done other than The Rock, which I now consider to be the exception to the rule. Not to mention the trailer, history of Hollywood and its molestation of source material, interviews with the director and the producer, and the plot details. Really, other than the name, the fact there are transforming robots, the label of "Energon Cube", the names Decepticon and Autobot, and some names of Robots, it isn't really Transformers at all in any which way shape or form.

Most of my bitching has been about how this movie has a 98% chance of being brutal and only by the hand of God will it be anything that isn't complete shit. I have yet to see, hear, or read anything that says other than maybe some nice action sequences will there be anything redeeming about this movie at all. Every piece of evidence only strengthens my theory. Amazing, I actually was looking forward to the movie before Bay was hired and he and Speilberg starting talking about it and the plot details got out.

Considering how much I loved the source material, it's something that I'm a little more passionate about. If I wasn't, I really wouldn't care.

Now, I will watch this movie, make no mistake about it. And you may not believe it, but I will actually try and separate myself from my love of the source material and judge it on its own. But 'cause of what I've seen, I will not spend a penny to watch it the first time and my expectations are as low as they can go. Kinda like the opposite of FF7, I don't think it's possible for me to actually be disappointed in this movie and there's a good chance it'll be better than I think (almost a guarantee).

So it might be a good thing, who knows?

I dispute this classification now that new evidence has come to light (viz., the post by Zeus right above this one).
