Anyone else watch Stargate? SG:1 I hated to see go but I was happy to see it go peacefully and not before it's time like Farscape and Firefly... ending was kinda cool but not all that exciting.

Atlantis, on the other hand-- holy shit. Adrift in space with nearly no power? Awesome finale...I'm very interested to see what happens in September

Luckily there's Dr Who in 2 weeks :)

Just never got into the new Doctor Who, and apparently, neither did Christopher Eccleston. The writing is incredibly campy, which might have worked 30 years ago, but you can't just do the same campy plotlines over and over again. I had to stop watching when they did that first Dalek episode. Ugh!

Now, nothing beats Tom Baker, though.

How did the FIRST episode where they brought back the biggest, baddest enemy turn you off to it?

A friend at work is a devoted fan, he watched it back in the 70's and loves the new seasons.

I dunno. Maybe it was the part where they were feeling pity for a Dalek, as if it was some sappy love story. This after the cheesy and INCREDIBLY CLICHE "one alien versus the army" chase scene, where an entire army is standing around thinking "oh, we're the army...what could possibly go wrong? ARGGGH!"

Face it, Doctor Who can get a face lift, but it needs new story writers. Star Trek evolved just fine with The Next Generation (even with the shaky first season), so why can't Dr. Who?

I think you should give Season 2 a chance...that sappy shit went out of style once they got a new Doctor.

I certainly hope so, though I really liked Eccleston.
